RECORD SETTING WSA CANNED FOOD DRIVE!

Hauling Truck Required to Transport Thousands of Canned Food Items

Thank you to all the teams who competed in WSA's Annual Canned Food Drive. Coordinator, Kevin King, WSA Director of Public Relations, reported that it was a record setting turn-out.  "I've had to arrange for a truck to come back tomorrow to haul all of the goods."  Thousands of canned goods were donated by members of The Side in true "West Side" fashion.  Due to the number of canned goods the official "contest" tallies were not available last week. However, by Monday, Coach Kevin King had reported that WSA 2000 Girls and WSA 97 Boys Blue were the winners.   "It is an amazing turn-out," reported King. Thanks again to all those teams participating!  Read Coach King's letter to the club...

FROM KEVIN KING, WSA DIRECTOR OF P.R.

Wanted to say thank you to all that participated this year in our annual canned food drive as this was the best turn out we have ever had!!

Congratulations to the WSA 97 boys blue with 275 items and the WSA 00 girls with 189 items as they are the winners for the boys and girls. They will receive a free entry fee in the WSA Polar Bear tournament, Feb. 8/9.

We had 1,075 items donated to help feed those in need for the holiday season.  On behalf of the club, thank you so much to those that took part as you guys did a great job and your generosity was very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin C. King, WSA Director of Public Relations
