 THE SIDE ADDS STAFF
Preps for "Academy Style" Programming w/ Addition of Three More College Coaches
Brent Coates, ORU; Damon Solomon Independence College; Nate Billings; Central Baptist University

WSA Soccer has vamped up it’s coaching staff for the 2013-14 season.  The addition of three college coaches to the staff, bringing the total college coaches on staff to 7, in addition to other High School Varsity coaches, will enhance the club’s programming, coach:player ratio, and also generates the platform needed for the club to launch it’s "Academy Style" training program.

"We are excited about each of the new coaching staff members," reports WSA DOC Roger Bush.  "The opportunity to further increase our network on behalf of all of our college prospects is significant, but most importanly we’ve just hired several tremendous leaders, great role models, and skilled teachers of the game."

"This is a significant step for The Side," reports WSA Assistant DOC, Ryan Bush.

The Side has recently hired Brent Coates (bio click here), formerly the head men’s coach at Oklahoma Baptist University, and the recently hired assistant men’s coach at Oral Roberts University.  Coates led OBU to national rankings, and has placed players in Major League Soccer and abroad.  Coach Coates brings a national license, and passion for the "heart of West Side" in his desire to lead young people.  Coates will lead the 99 boys program and play a role in WSA’s new "academy style" programming, directing the u14-u16 age divisions.

Nate Billings (bio click here), lands at WSA, from Central Baptist College (Arkansas).  Coach Billings brings a wealth of experience from the college ranks, including a stint at NSU, and also has coached for Little Rock FC’s youth program.  Coach Billings will join the 99 boys staff, and will participate as a director in the club’s new academy style training program with his assignment to be announced.

Damon Solomon, (bio click here), the head Men’s Coach at Independence Community College in Kansas, has joined the Side, and will be added to the 2000 boys program, as well as taking the lead role as director of the u12-u14 boys academy component of programming. Coach Solomon began working with WSA last year and is not new to "the Side".  He previously coached at NEOSHO College.

Brian McAllister, a WSA Alumni, former collegiate player, and current women’s coach at Charles Page High School, will rejoin a club his father helped found.  McAllister will be assigned to the WSA 03 Boys program, having spent the past season working in the club’s Youth Development Program.

Mike Schwarz joins WSA, and will also begin working in the 03 boys program, as well as the Academy Premiere Program with the WSA 06 and WSA 07 Girls.  Schwarz has directed varsity soccer at both Riverfield Academy and Holland Hall in recent seasons, and is also a former collegiate player.

Valentine Flores, a nationally licensed coach, will also join WSA’s staff taking a role in the 98 boys program.  Long time "Sharks" coach, Adam Vasquez, one of Tulsa’s most respected soccer leaders, will also take a role as coach and manager in the 98 boys program.

Janet Smith, a former collegiate player herself, is added to the staff for the 03 girls competitive program.  Coach Smith has worked the past year in the Youth Development Program.

Kayla Nsien, current ORU standout, and former member of Creighton University, will take an assistant role with the WSA 00 Girls program, in addition to her duties with the Youth Development Program.

Look for additional informaiton on new staff to be added later this summer.  Please join us in welcoming all new staff to the WSA Family!
